Why Crows Offered to Pinda Daan (Rice Morsels or Rice Balls)

Hindu Death Rituals

The square measure of crows offered to Pind Daan because they needed the facility to appear to souls when they needed to leave the body and could transfer their messages (from the soul) to the deities involved. Pleasing deities ensures an honest birth to the person's ancestors and liberating the danger of being stuck in the pretyoni.

After death, the soul leaves the body and enters the pretyoni for ten days. During the tenth day ritual, antyeshthi karm, we provide food to the crows

The soul then enters the pitri-yoni and is no longer a pretext. If the rituals of the tenth day are not performed properly, the soul may well mingle with pretyoni. it is better to suffer quickly in hell than to cause the blockage as a pretender to induce liberation.

There are 2 main reasons why crows measure in antyeshthi karm.

Why Crow Need to Eat Pinda

1. Crow is that of Shanidev's Vaahan. Shani (Saturn) is the son of Surya (Sun) and Chhaya and elder brother of Yamraj (Lord of Hell). These squares each measure the right to maintain the Dharma (justice) in the 3 kingdoms and to exhaust these souls. The square measure of the World Health Organization, Adharmi (not fair). Shani is also responsible for extorting the soul from all her bad deeds committed in previous births. Satisfying the raven is indirectly a way to please Shani. once he is happy, there will be no restriction in the passage of the soul to Pitrilok. Nourishing the raven is indirectly asking Shani to forgive for the perverse acts performed by the soul throughout his birth, thus ensuring a transparent passage from the soul to Pitrilok.

2. In Valmiki Ramayan, we discover an extract of Jayant's associate degree, Indra's son being disguised as a raven and cursed by Ram for Sita's heavy burden. Once in their Vanvas, Sita was sleeping on Ram's lap while Jayant, disguised as a crow, was pecking at her feet. Ram recognized Jayant and cursed him for his discourteous. He said, "From now on, you may have only one eye. you can only be ready to use one eyeball at a time, not both at the same time. So, crows cannot see with every eye. they do not see clearly after using each eye. Asking for forgiveness, Ram was happy and gave him a boon: "All that is invisible to the two-eyed creature is visible to you." Jayant is happy once the measure of the crows' square has been nurtured. Once the ravens measure their happiness, Jayant carries the message, or the last needs of the atom, to Aryama, Pitars' keeper.

Why Only Crows Offered to Pinda Daan

If there are different animals (scavengers), they would also eat the rice balls offered in all Pinda Daan. Unfortunately, this ritual is usually practiced near floating water or rivers where the Pinda Daan can be obtained over a floating leaf. Therefore, the raven is a treasured meal, the Pinda Daan.

Logically, crows eat anything they have, which has a dead rat, leftover food, spoiled food, and so on. So, if you keep contemporary rice balls, they will eat them too.

There are two issues involved during this question.

Pinda Daan or the provision of some pieces of food at the time of acting Shraadh or annual death ceremony of the deceased ancestors on their behalf by the Hindu.

Why was the crow only popular?

why crows are given importance during pitru paksha days

The provision by Hindus of some food at the time of the Shraadh or the annual death ceremony of deceased ancestors can be a common development. with the exception of PINDA DAAN.

Providing food to Brahmins is a regular nurse, an old and well-established custom, but why Pinda Daan to crows?

The answer lies in the undeniable fact that our ancestors believed in the theory LIVE AND LET LIVE. it is for the consumption of different living beings.

At  noon or first noon (after 12:00), pinda or food Morsels will be

(i) Kept outside and normally on the top of the roof so that domestic animals must not bite them,

(ii) offered in the  lake or riverside to  like being fish

(iii) offered to Fire

So will this animal or living being come back and touch/eat at noontime, uncertainly kept food on the rooftops? only birds! This also remarkably crows.
