Lina Medina is the youngest mother in the world who gave birth to a healthy baby in 1939. The only notable detail in this regard is the age of the girl: she was only five years old.
This story is truly a medical wonder - one that is surely hard to believe.
Lina lived in a small Peruvian village at 7,400 feet, the poorest region of the country.
The girl's parents initially thought that their daughter was suffering from a massive abdominal tumor, but after being examined by doctors in Pisco, Peru, they discovered she was eight months pregnant.
The situation in Medina certainly surprised everyone who studied the case, but among pediatric endocrinologists, it was not entirely unthinkable.
