Why criminal face is covered during hanging

Hanging a prison is the suspension of a person by a noose or a ligature around the neck. Suspended by the neck, the weight of the body serves to tighten the noose around the trachea and the structure of the neck, causing strangulation and death. This usually takes between ten and twenty minutes, with loss of consciousness within 6-15 seconds.

Why Face is Covered Before Hanging
